Indoor Basketball Court In New Brunswick

Social Networking - An interim summary

In recent weeks I've mainly discussed the so-called social networks - one reason why this blog was temporarily interrupted. A very time consuming affair, if one also uses the smartphone, always . On . To be to track the flow of messages promptly

Besides the "classic" mail also requires the RSS reader attention, and it may happen that the network activities move in a kind of endless loop: No sooner is an area processed , reports are already the next program and begs for attention short.. You come to nothing stifles productive work partly in the flood of posts, tweets, "Like" messages and games activities and other inventions of social networks

the first. stock of the past weeks is so sobering Here's my personal view of some services -. where I use the term Social Network also wants to expand to other areas of the Web 2.0.

are the "traditional" field of Web 2.0, the RSS feeds that I read about the Google Reader, established and still have their permission. Sensibly organized to facilitate the daily routine, important and interesting news sources in one go to ask. Also have the weblog, the apologists of Web 2.0 already partly written off and laid on the scrap heap, still has its qualities. By tags, categories, search and other tools specialized weblogs can still be a source of information. Posts in weblogs do not disappear after some time in the maelstrom of news feeds.

All Another, of course Twitter. Here are the tweets a lifetime of several hours before they meander in the endless time line. But this is precisely the appeal of Twitter, which is as it were, become the tabloid of the network. There are informative tweets, tweets are funny that reach the level of a good aphorism, there are "Klotweets" in short, everything is there so well in the offline life. The relatively open interface of Twitter has significantly contributed to other providers offer many opportunities to use this micro-blogging in other applications and services.

Facebook is considered the social network. Unfortunately, the quality suffers in contributions. The positive set at Twitter Interfaces cause on Facebook just a mash of messages. Comments are not possible here, but disappear after some time in the store room.

Buzz was initially hailed by Google and is not currently in such demand. However, this service is much discussion active than the other networks because new comments to the post to push back the timeline up. This creates real discussions - can have a half-life of several days and not hours - unusual for social networks. This raises a welcome change from Facebook.

Other networks I tear just look at short, Four Square is a micro blog that additional information on its beach resort passes. Ping.fm is a powerful tool that can be regarded as a kind of control center of social networks. Posterous.com is a blog that can also be closely linked to existing networks.

course I can not imagine all the networks. This will over the coming weeks and months will be made up. However, one can already draw one conclusion: Like so many "achievements" of Web 2.0 applications that are useful, but hopelessly overvalued.
